Description

The reigning favorite down bag for backpackers, Disco features the best-of-all-worlds Classic Spoon silhouette for ultimate side-sleeping comfort. NEMO`s iconic Spoon bags are cut generously at the elbows and knees so campers can shift positions comfortably throughout the night, but shave unnecessary weight so gear still packs up light. Features
  • Classic Spoon® Shape. Cut generously at the elbows and knees so you can shift positions all night, then tapered where it counts to keep weight and bulk down — a game changer for side sleepers.
  • Thermo Gill™ Vents. Next-generation chest vents with a multistage interior/exterior zipper system and a draft-blocking layer let you fine-tune temperature without direct exposure to cold air.
  • Blanket Fold™ Draft Collar. An oversized draft collar that blocks any chill when tucked in — mimicking the comfort of your bed at home — or dumps excess heat instantly when pushed out.
  • 650 FP Hydrophobic RDS Down. Premium 650 fill power down that is hydrophobic, PFAS-free, and certified to the Responsible Down Standard for animal welfare.
  • Waterproof 3D Footbox. A body-mapped 3D footbox — with hood and footbox reinforced by recyclable, PFAS-free waterproofing — keeps tent condensation from soaking into the bag.
  • Endless Promise® — 100% Recyclable. Designed to stay out of the landfill and on the trail, forever. At the end of its life, send it back to NEMO and they handle the recycling.
About the brand

NEMO Equipment was born on a turbulent night in 2002 on the side of Mount Washington, where founder Cam Brensinger spent five sleepless hours in a poorly designed bivy and realized how much better outdoor gear could be with thoughtful design. He founded NEMO that spring in Nashua, New Hampshire — naming it after Jules Verne's Captain Nemo, and, fittingly, 'New England Mountain Outfitters.' At Mountain Sports, we love NEMO for that problem-solving, design-first spirit: award-winning tents, sleeping bags, pads, and camp furniture engineered for real comfort and built to last.

Nemo Size Chart - Sleeping Bags

NEMO Sizing Chart

NEMO sleeping bags are sized by length, based on maximum user height ("fits up to").

Sleeping Bag Length Guide:

Size Fits Up To
Men's Regular 6'
Men's Long 6'6"
Women's Regular 5'6"
Women's Long 6'

If you are at the listed max height or slightly under, NEMO recommends the Regular length - your feet will not touch the bottom of the bag. Choosing Long adds 4-6" of excess space that can create cold pockets (unheated air the bag cannot insulate), potentially leaving you cold. Some bags are also offered in Wide widths (Regular Wide / Long Wide); shoulder, hip and knee girth vary by model and are listed in each product's Specifications section.

Is this right for you?

3-season backpacking

650 FP hydrophobic down packs light and small, while Thermo Gill™ vents stretch comfort from chilly spring nights to warm summer evenings.

Side sleepers & restless campers

The Classic Spoon® shape gives elbows and knees room to shift positions all night without the mummy-bag squeeze.

Not for: Counting every gram on big-mile objectives? A higher-fill-power bag packs even smaller. Step up to the Riff 800 FP

Questions, answered

Before you buy.

Pulled from chats, emails and store visits. The things people actually ask us before they buy. Don't see yours?

Ask a question
What does the temperature rating mean?

A bag's headline rating (like 15°F or 20°F) is closer to a lower limit than a comfort guarantee. Most people sleep comfortably about 10–15°F above the rated temperature, and cold sleepers should add extra margin. Your sleeping pad matters just as much — an insulated pad blocks heat loss to the ground. Where NEMO publishes ISO Comfort and Limit numbers, you'll find them in the specs above.

Down or synthetic — which should I choose?

Down (Disco, Riff) is lighter and compresses smaller for its warmth, making it the pick for backpacking and big-mile trips. Synthetic fill (Forte, Tempo) costs less, dries faster, and keeps insulating even when damp — ideal for wet climates, new campers, and car camping. NEMO's recycled Zerofiber™ synthetic and hydrophobic RDS-certified down both narrow the traditional gaps.

How do I wash my sleeping bag?
  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a front-loading washer — top-loader agitators can damage baffles.
  • Use a technical fabric or down-specific wash; never use fabric softener or bleach.
  • Tumble dry on low heat; for down bags, add clean tennis balls to break up clumps and restore loft.
  • Spot-clean between washes to extend fabric life.
How should I store my sleeping bag between trips?

Never store a sleeping bag compressed — long-term compression permanently damages the loft that keeps you warm. At home, keep it loose in a large mesh or cotton storage sack (or hung) in a cool, dry place, and only use the compression sack while traveling.

What is NEMO's Endless Promise®?

Endless Promise® is NEMO's circular design program: products built to be repaired, resold, and fully recycled at the end of their life instead of landfilled. Mono-material construction means the whole product can go back into the recycling stream.
