This jacket is an instant favorite whether tackling chores, exercising the dog, or running about. It's made with our signature oil finish Shelter Cloth from England's historic British Millerain, a pioneer of waxed canvas. In a nod to tradition, the caped shoulder construction eliminates exposed seams for improved water resistance. Large expandable cargo pockets carry the essentials and feature hidden hand pockets. The entire jacket is lined with warm brushed-cotton flannel. The drawcord-adjustable hem is a detail retained from the original.

Features
  • Waist-length cut
  • Water-resistant waxed cotton shell
  • Lined with Alaskan Guide flannel
  • Seamless caped shoulder construction
  • Large, expandable flap-covered pockets

Materials & Care
  • Shell: 11-oz. 100% cotton oil finish Shelter Cloth
  • Lining: 8-oz. 100% cotton flannel
  • Care: Do not wash or dry-clean — brush or wipe clean with a damp rag. Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.
Size & Fit

Waist-length cut, sized to layer over a shirt or flannel. Filson's size chart lists body measurements, not garment measurements — if you are between sizes or plan to layer heavily, order up.

About The Brand

Filson has outfitted people who work outdoors since 1897, when C.C. Filson began kitting out prospectors headed north to the Klondike. The promise then was the same one on the label today: might as well have the best. That means oil-finish Tin Cloth and Shelter Cloth waxed canvas that turns brush, weather, and abrasion; Mackinaw wool that stays warm wet; brushed cotton flannel and moleskin cut for a full day of motion; and hardware chosen to outlast the garment. Filson builds gear to break in rather than wear out, and backs it with a lifetime guarantee. At Mountain Sports, we love Filson because it is honest, repairable, heirloom-grade kit — the jacket you hand down, not the one you replace.
