  • 360º adjustable fit. One continuous strap runs through the footbed and around the whole foot, so the fit is tuned at every contact point instead of at a single buckle.
  • Podiatrist-certified LUVSEAT™ footbed. Chaco's signature LUVSEAT™ footbed is certified by podiatrists and holds the arch in alignment through a full day on foot.
  • ChacoGrip™ outsole. A non-marking ChacoGrip™ rubber compound on a 3.0 mm lug performance outsole, built for no-slip traction on wet rock and loose ground.

Do these run true to size?

Chaco publish the Z/1 Classic in whole US women's sizes 5–12 in a medium width, and publish no true-to-size note for it. The single strap runs through the footbed and adjusts around the whole foot, so a little in-between-size slack is taken up by tightening rather than by changing size.

Can I get them wet?

Yes — Chaco build the Z/1 for water and publish it as made for water. The polyester webbing straps dry quickly and the ChacoGrip™ outsole is optimized for wet traction.

How do I clean them?

Chaco publish no cleaning instructions on the Z/1 Classic product page. The upper is polyester webbing over a PU footbed, so rinse with fresh water after salt water, sand or chlorine, wash the webbing with mild soap and a soft brush, and air dry at room temperature away from direct heat.

Will the footbed mould to my foot?

The LUVSEAT™ is a moulded PU platform with a fixed arch shape — it supports the arch rather than taking an impression of your foot, so the contour you feel on the first wear is the one it keeps. Chaco publish no break-in or moulding claim for it.

Are they good for wide feet?

Chaco build this version in a medium width only, and publish a separate wide-width Z/1 Classic in their women's range for feet that need more room. The strap adjusts around the whole foot, which helps across the instep, but the footbed itself is a medium width.
