  • Heel-to-midfoot stability. On placed the Clouds from the heel through the midfoot rather than the full length, which steadies the landing while a child is still learning to run.
  • No-fuss fastening. A single hook-and-loop strap over elastic laces. No tying, no knots, no waiting at the door — they can do it themselves.
  • Wider outsole grooves. Developed with kids' biometrics experts: more grooves, cut wider, so small feet can bend and flex the way they are supposed to.
  • Reinforced recycled upper. The upper is 100% recycled polyester across the vamp and quarter, reinforced at the wear points and backed by extra rubber pads on the outsole.

  • Unisex kids' sizing, US 10.5–13.5 then 1–3 (EU 27.5–35). Note the numbering restarts at 1 — US 1 is a size larger than US 13.5, not smaller.
  • Measure rather than guess: stand your child on paper with their heel to a wall, mark the longest toe and measure. On's range runs 6.6 in at US 10.5 to 8.4 in at US 3.
  • Leave roughly a thumb's width of room in front of the toes — enough for a growth spurt, not so much that the heel slips.
  • Measure both feet and fit the larger one; most children have one foot slightly longer.
  • Regular width. The hook-and-loop strap gives real adjustment across the instep, so a wider foot has somewhere to go.
  • Past US 3? The Youth Cloud Sky covers the next stage, roughly 8–15 years.

What ages is the Cloud Play made for?

On designs it for roughly 4 to 8 year olds, and this listing runs US 10.5 through 3 (EU 27.5–35). Go by the foot measurement rather than the age — kids of the same age vary enormously. If your child is past US 3, the Youth Cloud Sky picks up where this one stops.

Can my child put these on by themselves?

Yes — that is the point of the design. A single hook-and-loop strap closes over elastic laces that never need tying, so most children in this age range manage it unaided from the first wear. There are no knots to come undone mid-play either.

How do I get the size right?

Stand your child on a sheet of paper with their heel against a wall, mark the end of the longest toe, and measure. On's chart runs from 6.6 in at US 10.5 to 8.4 in at US 3. Leave about a thumb's width of room ahead of the toes — enough for a growth spurt, not so much that the foot slides. Both feet are worth measuring; fit the larger one.

Are these really running shoes, or just running-styled?

Genuinely engineered, but built for play rather than for training. It carries On's CloudTec® cushioning with the Cloud elements resized to compress at a child's weight, a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop and a stability-minded heel-to-midfoot layout. What it is not is a performance race shoe — On positions it as an all-day active shoe for young kids.

How do I clean them?

Knock off the dry dirt, then hand wash the recycled-polyester upper with mild soap and cool water and use a soft brush on the outsole. Air dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sun. Keep them out of the washing machine and tumble dryer — heat and agitation are what break down the Cloud elements and the adhesives.
