About the brand

NEMO Equipment was born on a turbulent night in 2002 on the side of Mount Washington, where founder Cam Brensinger spent five sleepless hours in a poorly designed bivy and realized how much better outdoor gear could be with thoughtful design. He founded NEMO that spring in Nashua, New Hampshire — naming it after Jules Verne's Captain Nemo, and, fittingly, 'New England Mountain Outfitters.' At Mountain Sports, we love NEMO for that problem-solving, design-first spirit: award-winning tents, sleeping bags, pads, and camp furniture engineered for real comfort and built to last.

Questions, answered

Before you buy.

Pulled from chats, emails and store visits. The things people actually ask us before they buy. Don't see yours?

Ask a question

What is the weight capacity?

This chair is rated to a 300 lb weight capacity.

Will it sink into sand or soft ground?

Like most camp chairs, the feet can press into deep, dry sand or very soft ground. Setting up on firmer ground — or placing a mat or board under the feet — keeps it steady.

How do I clean and care for my chair?

Wipe the seat fabric and frame with a damp cloth and mild soap — avoid harsh detergents.
Rinse off sand, salt, and dirt after beach or coastal trips.
Air dry completely before packing it into its case.
Store in a dry place out of prolonged direct sunlight, since UV exposure weakens fabric over time.

What warranty does NEMO gear carry?

NEMO covers manufacturing defects under its warranty program, and many categories carry lifetime coverage. Bring it by the shop or call us — we'll help you sort out any claim with NEMO directly.
