Description
Salomon took the fit skiers already trusted in the original Alpha and built the stiffer version of it. ExoDrive wraps a third cuff overlap around the ankle so the shell, cuff and liner load as one piece instead of fighting each other, and a Powerlink pivot sits lower than usual so what you ask for arrives at the ski sooner.
This is the firm end of the S/Pro Alpha range and Salomon say so themselves. The last is narrow, which is the whole point for a slim foot that wants no slop in it. A BOA dial on the cuff handles the fine tuning, two aluminium buckles do the rest, and every piece that matters unscrews so a bootfitter can get inside and make it yours.
Perfect for
Features
- ExoDrive construction. A third cuff overlap wraps the ankle so the shell, cuff and liner flex as one piece, which is what holds your heel down when you load the front of the boot.
- Powerlink™ pivot. A metal component ties the cuff to the shell at a lowered pivot point, shortening the path your input takes to reach the ski.
- Custom Shell™ HD. A bootfitter can heat and reshape the lower shell, or the shell and cuff together, in about ten minutes.
- S/Pro CF Expert liner. CF 4D construction with an external Talyn layer, an elastic toe box and an edgeless Custom Tongue 2 that comes out for customizing.
- BOA® dial and two buckles. One cuff-mounted BOA dial micro-adjusts the wrap while two screwed aluminium buckles and a 45 mm Energyzer strap handle the rest.

About the brand
From trail running to skiing, Salomon has been innovating for mountain life since 1947. Their performance-driven designs deliver precision and confidence wherever the adventure leads. At Mountain Sports, we love Salomon because it’s built for those who play hard in the outdoors — all year long.

How it ranks across conditions.

Is this right for you?
All-mountain resort skiing
Steeps, chopped-up groomers and long fast runs, where a boot that flexes as one piece is what keeps the ski on edge.
Not for: Not a touring boot. There is no walk mode and no tech fitting, so uphill days are out. Need the skis too? Browse our skis
Narrow, low-volume feet
A slim foot with a low instep gets a boot that holds it without a fitter having to punch volume out of the shell.
Not for: A wide forefoot or a high instep will hurt in this boot and no amount of molding fixes a last that is the wrong shape. Wider foot? Browse all ski boots
Skiers who get boots fitted
Custom Shell HD, a moldable liner and screwed rather than riveted hardware make this an easy boot for a fitter to work on.
Not for: Not the cheapest way into skiing if you plan to buy off the shelf and never touch it again. Everything else for the hill
