How do Free Fly bottoms fit — should I size up or down?

Most Free Fly bottoms run true to size with stretch built into the fabric, so your usual size is the right call for most people. Fits do vary by style — from the Breeze line's relaxed cut to the slimmer Anchor 5 Pocket — so check the Size & Fit notes and the size guide on each product page before ordering.

Are the Palmera shorts swim-ready?

The Palmera Trunk is built for the sand and surf: quick-dry stretch fabric, mesh-lined pockets that drain, and a boardshort-style adjustable closure. The Palmera Hybrid Short uses the same quick-dry fabric with a PFAS-free DWR finish, styled as an everyday short that won't mind getting wet.

What pockets does the Palmera Hybrid Short have?

Hand pockets along the side seams, a secure back-right zipper pocket for cash, cards, or keys, and a back-left drop-in pocket.

How should I wash and dry these?

Machine wash cold with like colors on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry low or hang dry. Skip bleach and fabric softener — they break down stretch fibers. Always check the sewn-in care label; some fabrics, like Free Fly's stretch canvas, do best washed inside out and hung to dry.
