Description

The Salomon Speedcross 6 is a men's trail running shoe built for mud and soft, loose ground. This version is lighter, with a more powerful grip and faster mud evacuation from its deep 5 mm Mud Contagrip lugs. An EnergyCell+ midsole gives classic Speedcross comfort with high rebound, and Sensifit construction holds the foot precisely. quickLACE tightens with one pull, and an anti-debris mesh keeps grit out.

Salomon Sizing Chart

Salomon footwear sizes are conversions of foot length. To find your size: stand on a sheet of paper against a wall (wearing the socks you would normally wear with this type of shoe), mark just in front of your big toe, repeat for both feet, take the longer distance, and measure from the wall to the mark.

Is this right for you?

Trail running

Salomon builds it for mud and soft, loose ground, with deep 5 mm lugs that shed mud fast.

Not for: For hard, dry paths and pavement, a road running shoe is the better pick. Shop men's road running

Wet trails

An updated outsole delivers better grip on wet surfaces, per Salomon.

Not for: Not waterproof: feet will get wet in puddles and stream crossings. Shop trail running shoes

Questions, answered

Before you buy.

Pulled from chats, emails and store visits. The things people actually ask us before they buy. Don't see yours?

Ask a question
Are these good for road running?

Not really — the deep 5 mm Mud contaGRIP lugs are tuned for soft, muddy and loose trail. On pavement they feel knobby and wear faster. For roads or hard-packed paths, choose a road or door-to-trail shoe.

Are they waterproof?

This is the standard (non-GORE-TEX) Speedcross 6 — it's breathable and quick-draining, not waterproof. For wet, cold conditions, look for the Speedcross 6 GORE-TEX version.

How do they fit?

True to size with a snug, performance trail fit through the midfoot and a regular width. The quickLACE system cinches evenly; if you're between sizes or have a wider foot, size up a half.

What is the heel-to-toe drop?

10 mm drop with soft, protective EnergyCell+ cushioning — a familiar, supportive feel for most trail runners.
