Men's micro crew socks average 8.5 in. from heel to cuff - expect them to show about 6 in. above a low hiking shoe or just above a standard hiking boot.

Kids' shoe sizing starts over after size 13.5, so size M covers 12 through 2.5.

Men's styles sit a little higher on the leg than women's styles. Your sock size is printed inside the cuff (for example, "M"), so you can check a pair you already own.
