Widths: Regular vs. Narrow

Birkenstock styles come in two widths. Regular fits medium to wide feet (women's width equivalent C - D; men's D - EE). Narrow fits narrow to medium feet (women's width equivalent A - B; men's B - C) - the Narrow width fits most women's feet. Look for the footprint icon online and on the shoe box: an outlined footprint means Regular width, a filled footprint means Narrow width.

Testing the Fit

Before trying them on, flex the footbed by placing one hand under the toe and one under the heel - this begins the break-in period. Open all the straps, step in, then fasten them comfortably. Your toes should not touch the edge of the footbed; aim for about 1/4 inch of space around your foot. While breaking them in, keep the straps loose at first, wear them around the house for 1 - 2 hours at a time, and gradually increase wear time as the footbed molds to your feet.
