New Balance call the 1080 the most comfortable running shoe they know how to make, and the v15 is the one where they changed the foam to back it up. Infinion is built around a problem every runner knows: cushioning compresses as the miles go on, and one day the shoe just feels finished. Infinion is designed to resist that - to make more of the runs in a shoe's life feel like the first one. New Balance rate the cushioning extra soft, which is the top of their scale.

The v15 also looks nothing like the v14. The upper is a contoured, perforated mesh - lighter and more breathable, and a deliberate break from how this shoe has looked for years. Underneath it all the shoe is what it has always been: neutral, unstructured, and built for everyday miles and long runs rather than for speed. We carry it in four widths, which is the other reason people keep coming back to this one.

Features
  • Infinion midsole foam, new on this generation
  • Built to resist the compression that makes a shoe feel worn out
  • Enhanced cushioning and energy return over the foam it replaced
  • Contoured, perforated mesh upper - fully redesigned for the v15
  • Neutral support with no medial post
  • Available in four widths
  • New Balance rate the cushioning Extra Soft
  • Listed by New Balance for everyday running and long runs
Materials & Care
  • Upper: contoured perforated engineered mesh
  • Midsole: Infinion foam
  • Outsole: rubber at the wear zones with exposed midsole foam elsewhere
  • Care: brush off dry dirt, hand wash the mesh with mild soap and cool water, then air dry at room temperature away from direct heat. No washing machine and no tumble dryer - heat permanently flattens Infinion.
Size & Fit
  • Men's US 7-13 in half sizes, plus 14, 15 and 16.
  • Four widths: B (narrow), D (standard), 2E (wide) and 4E (x-wide). Not every colourway is stocked in every width.
  • Take your usual New Balance running size. New Balance list it as fitting as expected for most people.
  • The perforated mesh upper has a little give, and the fit is roomier than a performance trainer by design.
  • Neutral only. For support, look at the 860.

About The Brand

New Balance has been making shoes in New England since 1906, and still runs its own factories in the United States — a rare thing in modern footwear. The range stretches from the 574 to carbon-plated racers and track spikes, but the constant is fit: multiple widths, a size run that goes where other brands stop, and shoes built to be run in rather than looked at. At Mountain Sports, we carry New Balance because it takes fit seriously — and because a shoe that actually fits is the one you will keep reaching for.
